Hatteras OBX is surrounded by water and between the Ocean and Sound sides is offers great selection on different conditions. on a windy day Ocean can bring 3-5 m of a smooth waves for surfers and all wave riders. Not to forget to watch for local squeals (sharks) which may be seen some times. On the Sound side it is a Kitesurfing paradise . Miles of flat and shallow water ride with almost all wind direction. Great spot for group downwinders. The famous Triple-S competitions are happening here every year.
